Hey everyone!
I just wanted to share a makeover project I did recently. When we repainted our living room, I was looking for wall decor to add. We found this piece at Lowe's and thought it was perfect.
So we hung it up. While the colors were great and matched the wall and couch perfectly, something kept bugging me every time I looked at it.
So when I got my hands on the Simple Stories Summer Fresh collection, I knew what had to be done. I decided to take the denim 12x12 paper and cover the canvas. But first I gave the canvas a coat of white paint.
After painting the canvas and adhering the paper, I went to town decorating it. I love the phrase 'Life is Good' so I knew that piece of patterned paper would be perfect.
So here's the finished project!
Much better!
My collage wall is S.L.O.W.L.Y. coming together. It takes me forever to decide what I like. FOREVER, people!
I know I'm still going to be adding and tweaking that wall till the cows come home.
Well, out to weed my woodland garden. Hopefully, I don't get swallowed up by the morning glory!

Scraps on my Table challenge
Hey everyone!
As I was cleaning off the Table from yesterday's layout, I came across some punched butterflies that were leftovers from a card exchange last week.Sometimes {okay all the time} I just let punched pieces sit on the Table for days on end, and then I either stuff them in a zipper baggie or toss them. Not really a good use of my leftovers either way.
{On a side note: Can I just say how much I love the new butterfly punch from Stampin' Up! I was bummed when they retired the old butterfly punch, but I seriously love this new one!}
So just as I was about to walk away from the Table, I decided instead to challenge myself to use the butterflies and a random decorative edge border that I didn't use on the layout and make a quick card.
Many times when I sit down to make a card, I flip through several magazines, looking for inspiration on color or design, but not this time. I wanted this to be a super quick card so I just started laying things out, pulled out a stamp set from Studio Calico and grabbed my favorite Stampin' Up! pearls. As soon as I liked what I saw, I adhered everything down. Less than 5 minutes!
So here's my card:
That was fun! I'm definitely going to do that challenge again. So here's my challenge to you: Pick up a few scraps that have been sitting around on your craft table and put them together on a card. Send me a link in the comments so that I can be inspired by you!

Inspiration from Simple Stories, Shimelle, and Story Saving
Hey everyone!
I'm sharing a layout today using products from Simple Stories' Summer Fresh line. Oh how I love everything about this line. In fact, I love it so much that I'm trying to incorporate some of it into my living room decor. I'll show you a canvas piece next week that I made using this very fun and happy collection.
The design is inspired by a free class at Two Peas in a Bucket called 4x6 Photo Love, taught by Shimelle Laine. I was inspired to scrap these photos because of a blog post by Kelsey at the Story Saving blog.
And if you're wondering why I photographed it still in the page protector, it's because I wanted to show how you can still have interactive elements (and keep them accessible) but still keep the main part of your layout safe from sticky hands. :)

A little more CHA stuff
Hey everyone!
I thought I'd just share a little bit more Winter Frost with you. The colors in this line are so soft and pretty. They remind me of the world right after a big snowfall. You know when everything is super quiet and clean? As a kid I would always be amazed at how quiet our neighborhood was right after a snowstorm.

I think this one is my favorite project. It was so fun working with the Sew Easy. |

Hall Pass
Hey everyone!
Time for another share. This time using We R's new Hall Pass line. I loved working with this line. And while it's obviously great for school-themed projects, it's versatile enough to use for just about anything. Loved all the rich colors. These are on display at CHA right now!

Love 2 Craft
Hey friends!
Just a quick post today before I run out to another baseball game. These are a few projects I made with the We R Memory Keepers Love 2 Craft line and the new Mini Lucky 8 punch that will be debuting next week at CHA. The colors of the Love 2 Craft line are so.....juicy. That's the only word I can use to describe them. And if they don't look juicy on your computer, blame my camera.....and my photography skills. ;)
Thanks for joining me at the Table today! Play ball!

The papers on this card are actually from the Anthologie line. And I had to break out some Stampin' Up! stamps and crochet trim. |
I used a circle punch to punch out the scallops from the Mini Lucky 8 punch for a different look. |
These black chevron pieces are actually the "discards" from the Mini Lucky 8 punch. I love finding uses for un-useable pieces. |
For this banner, I actually cut all those Mini Lucky 8 pieces apart. You Stampin' Up! fans might recognize the flowers as the Triple Layer Flower punch that is now retired. |
These would be fun in a craft room, dontcha think? |

I'm on TV!
Framed Card Display
Okay, well not me but one of my projects! Click on the "Framed Card Display" link above to see Jenny from We R Memory Keepers talk about this home decor piece.
This was a fun one to create. I love taking something old and making it new again. The frame was from the D.I. I spray painted it and then antiqued it, added some screw eyes to the sides of the frame and threaded wire through the screw eyes. This would be a fun home decor piece that you could change out on a whim, adding Christmas cards, just photos or other paper-crafted pieces that match your decor.
Here's a photo of the finished project:
