XOXO....one more Crazy for You Layout

Hello!

I thought before February fades away with the snow (at least I'm wishing the snow will fade away soon!) I would share one more layout using the Crazy for You collection by We R Memory Keepers.

This one isn't a Valentine's Day layout, but these papers can also be used for general "love" layouts.

My daughter L.O.V.E.S our dogs.  She just can't leave them alone.  She's either picking them up to cuddle them (which our 50 pound Cockerdoodle usually has something to say about that one. Ha!) or dressing them up in random stuff, or blowing on them.  Sometimes they play along and sometimes they growl but they always come back for more "torture" with their tails wagging.  I wanted to document that so that when she's a mom who tells her kids to stop bugging the dogs, I can pull this out!

I used one of the Tab punches to accent the side of the photo and the top of the layout.

This doily stamp comes with the Crazy for you Collection.  I used it to add "texture" to the kraft XOXO and to add a pattern to the main 12x12 sheet, as well as a couple of accent stamps on the body of the layout.

And some more close ups: (you can see that I still had a few more of those little hearts left but I put those babies to good use)

So just because Valentine's Day is over and February is about to wave bye-bye, doesn't mean these papers are obsolete.  You can use them for lots of projects!

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

Hostess Gift

Hello!

I thought I'd take my mind off our freezing outside temps and my nagging sore throat by sharing with you what my Stamp Club hostesses get this year.

I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for about 3 years now and although, I'm not a career-minded demonstrator, I've been adjusting a few things here and there as my SU! business has puttered along.  This year, I decided to do themes and hostess gifts (if you were in my Stamp Club last year, so sorry I didn't treat you as well as the ladies this year. :( come back next year and I'll make it up to you!)

Because my schedule is a little hectic right now, I hold Stamp Club every other month.  Last month the theme was Clean, Simple, but Cute! (see post here for the projects we made).

Here is what all the ladies will be getting as a hostess gift this year:

I made a little card holder box from the scallop envelope die.  You just put two together and they hold 3x3 cards and envelopes perfectly.  I included 3 cards and 3 envelopes.  They fit snugly without being squished.  The flower and the kraft colored tag are from the Pop-Up Posies kit.  The Calypso Coral looks super neon in these photos.  Sorry about that.  It's not.  Just a nice pretty pinkish-orange.  So each lady in my Stamp Club will get one of these sets.  The design will look the same but I'll probably change out the colors each time.

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

Celebrating February 14th

Hello!

Since this is still the month of L.O.V.E. I thought I'd share a layout I did about how we had a family Valentine's Day dinner one year when my kids were little and we didn't have a babysitter.  I've been wanting to scrapbook these photos for about...oh...10 years.  I'm kind of embarrassed that it took me this long, but I guess better late than never and now I have the memory documented. :)

I used the Crazy for You collection again from We R Memory Keepers.  The colors fit perfectly with my photos.  I didn't add too much embellishment because I really am a simple scrapper at heart:

And a couple of close-ups:

The "February 14th" chipboard sticker has a little bit of sparkle.  So pretty!

I punched 3 little hearts out of the black/white chevron paper then finished the line off with one of WRMK great metal "flair" buttons....love those things!

I'm working on one more that I'll post soon.

Are you still working on Valentine's layouts?  If you are, put a link to yours in the comments.  I'd love to see!

Pinterest Party....A Wedding Gift

Hello!

I have a good friend getting married this week.  She and her husband-to-be are a little more established in life so they don't need a lot in the way of home goods and for her shower I didn't want to get her a gift card.  So I decided to make her something she can display in her new home.  My initial intent was to do something like this from one of my Pinterest Boards:

But then I decided I wanted a more home-themed quote and a bit more color so I ended up with this:

They're a really cute couple and I'm so happy for them.  I made the banners for their reception.  I'll take photos when we go and show you how they turned out.

More WRMK Valentine projects using every. last. bit.

Hello!

Hope you had a great weekend.  Were you busy or did you get to relax?  And did you watch Downton Abbey?!  To wait till next year for Season 4 is going to kill me!  I just may have to watch 1-3 again in the meantime.  And throw in a little Larkrise to Candleford for good measure.

As promised, I'm back with a couple more Crazy for You projects.  On this first card, I pulled out my Silhouette again and cut this little cupid.  It's a WRMK shape.  You can get it HERE.  I love his chubby tummy.  And remember all those little text hearts I had left over from cutting that background piece last week?  Well, I used some of them here:

I used a bit of red Stickles on a couple of places and some crystal Stickles on the wing (not sure where that photo went but you can click the photo above to enlarge and get a better look).

Secondly, you know us paper crafters like to use every bit of paper and not waste an inch!  So I made this card right here:

These little snippets of colorful goodness are actually from the branding strips at the bottom of each piece of patterned paper.

I trimmed the small patterned strips into banners and attached them to the stamped card base.  (NOTE:  the hearts are clear stamps that you can buy with the Crazy for You collection).

The words are the names of each pattern.  I just trimmed them out, rounded two corners with my 1/8" Corner Chomper.  After everything was adhered into place,  I pierced holes all around and then used my WRMK gray twine to add some fun texture.  The hearts were punched from WRMK white textured card stock, then I added crystal Stickles.  Oh yeah, I inked all the edges with gray ink.

The purples in this collection just remind me of grape juice, which reminds me of eating breakfast as a little girl.  Grape juice was my favorite!

I've been working on a couple more projects with the Crazy for You collection, so check back soon!

More Valentine's Day sharing

Hello!

Valentine's Day has come and gone but I thought I'd pop in to share a few of the things that were exchanged that day.  Superman surprised me by bringing me home this:

And I made him these:

I used my paper piercer to "carve" the heart and initials in my woodgrain paper.

Since we weren't able to go on a date on Valentine's Day itself, we're going tonight.  Nothing like stretching out the love, right? :)

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!

Valentine's Day is over but....

Hello!

If I have to be honest, Valentine's Day isn't in the top of my holidays to celebrate.  Gasp!  And can I just say that I'm totally happy I don't have to make classroom Valentines or Valentine's Day boxes for my kids anymore.  I'm not sure why I feel that way.  I just cringe when I hear the news stories about how much people spend on each other for Valentine's Day.  I'd rather save that money and have an extra special anniversary.  Anyone else feel the same or is it just me?

But having said that, Superman and I did exchange small inexpensive gifts (I'll share those with you tomorrow) and we'll be going out to dinner tomorrow night so I'm not a total Scrooge.  Just so ya know.

I do, however, LOVE Valentine's crafts, decorating and all that goodness.  I've been making a few cards with the new Crazy for You collection from We R Memory Keepers.  The colors in this new line are just.....juicy.  That's the only word I can come up with.  Juicy.  Let me show you what I mean.

The pinks in this collection are so pretty.  Not pastel, but not in-your-face neon.  Think red raspberries, and vine-ripened watermelon (see? Juicy.)  Just lovely pinks.  And just like Christmas, Valentine's Day and glitter go hand in hand.

WRMK adds just the right amount of glitter to their chipboard stickers and patterned papers.

And I couldn't resist pulling out my Silhouette to make another card:

I cut a heart background from one of the 6x6 text sheets and adhered over top the pink heart paper.  Included in the collection are some really cute doily stickers.  I layered the chipboard sticker, doily sticker and metal button for a fun textural look.  I decided it needed a little something more so I adhered some of those little hearts back into the cut out openings.  Here's a close up:

I have a ton of those little text hearts still left.  I'll show you how I was able to use most of them, plus a new shape that WRMK has in the Silhouette store.  I'll also show you the yummy purples in this awesome collection.

So even though Valentine's Day 2013 is officially over, it's never too late or too early to plan your fun paper crafting projects!

Valentine Cards

Hello!

I'm back again with a few more Quick & Easy cards.  Making your own cards can sometimes seem daunting, especially with all the amazing creations you can find on Pinterest nowadays.  And while those are fun and would be awesome to receive, sometimes you just don't have time for all that fluff or your recipient isn't into all the layers and embellishments.  Enter the clean and simple card:

This is a direct copy from fellow demonstrator Catherine Pooler. Thanks, Catherine!

Here's another take on Mary Fish's butterfly card.  This time I decided not to layer the butterflies.  I love the monochromatic look.

I wanted to use the new buttons I got from the Sale-A-Bration catalog so I decided to make a quick party invite.  I just am in love with those buttons!

As you can see, clean and simple doesn't have to be boring at all!  In fact, most of the time, these quick & easy cards are the most appealing because you can see every detail and they don't take long to create!

If you want to add any of these fabulous supplies to your crafting collection, please click on the links at the top right of my blog.  They'll take you right to my shop.  And don't forget that with every $50 you spend, you'll get a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog! (like those awesome buttons!)

February Stamp Club with Stampin' Up!

Hello!

I'm starting a new year of Stamp Club and more than half of my ladies are new to the group.  It's so fun to add new people to the mix.  We met last week and I must say we had a great time.  At least I did!  For our first meeting of the year, I thought the theme would be Quick & Easy cards.  Most of these focused on one-layer stamping and/or using scraps and punches.

Here are the fun cards we made:
I need to give credit to fellow SU! demonstrator, Mary Fish, who's design you see in this  butterfly card.  So cute!

I LOVE the new More Amore DSP in the Spring Catalog.  The colors are beautiful!  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.  I also love the red glimmer paper....so fitting for Valentine's day, don't you think?

The banners and heart in this clean and simple card are from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set.  And don't you love that chunky rhinestone?

Check back soon as I'll show you some other Quick & Easy card ideas!

Thanks for joining me at the Table today!
