A Plan to Post

Hi everyone!

I have a plan to post every day for the next 2 weeks!  I'm getting ready for my first Open House of the year and I've been making a few cards and things to display there.  So I plan to post a project a day for the next 14 days.  I won't be including much detail so if you have any questions about how I did something, please leave a comment and I'll get right back to you.  Whenever possible, I'll give credit to the person/site I found the idea.  If I don't (it's because I can't remember where), and it's your idea, thank you, thank you, thank you! I get so much inspiration from browsing the blogs of so many talented people. :)

First up, is this little bag (idea from the awesome Kimberly Van Diepen)that I'll be giving to the cute gal who will be hosting the Open House.  I'll be filling it with some chocolate of course and maybe a little bit of ribbon that she can use on a project!

Past Cards and a Photo that Apparently Needs a Nap!

Hi everyone!

I've been feeling a little out of sorts and not in the mood to craft the last couple of days so I've been perusing my iPhoto library to see if I could spark some inspiration.  I came across this photo of cards I made a year ago and I still love to look at them.  I'm usually really good at giving my creations away.  After all, that's my purpose in this whole card making hobby of mine.  To share a part of me with someone else.  But, I haven't been able to bring myself to part with these except the one with the flower which I gave to my Mom for Mother's Day last year.  I gave her that one because the turquoise button came from my Grandma's stash. I think it was once part of a sweater my Grandma used to wear.  It still even has the original thread attached! My Grandma has been gone for 25 years but I have loved holding on to a few bits and pieces of her.

Sorry you have to lay on your side to view this.  I've tried 3 times to turn it the right way but Blogger isn't cooperating this afternoon.  Maybe I'm exuding too many tired vibes. LOL

So here's a challenge to you all.  Leave me a comment and attach a link to your crafting projects of late or to a favorite project you've discovered on your blog surfing.  I need all the inspiration I can get!

Super Saturday

Hello!

I thought I would share with you all what I was up to today.  Once a year, the ladies at church get together and have a big craft day.  We call it Super Saturday!  We talk, laugh, eat and craft the day away.  I usually like to make a couple of extra projects to give my mom and sister for Christmas.  This year they were able to peruse the table of sample crafts so I asked them, which was their favorite {cause I'm sly like that}.  I picked the ones they pointed out.  I hope they like them!

For my mom

For my sister

For me to display during each birthday month of the members our little family :)

More In Color Creations

Hello and happy Sunday!

I made these cards a few days ago but haven't had time to post them until tonight.  I love this hostess-exclusive set from the 2011-2012 SU! Idea Book & Catalog called Simply Soft.

Make sure you don't toss your old SU! IB&Cs because they're not just catalogs.  They have hundreds of ideas for projects that you can use over and over.  Just substitute different stamps like I did here.  I used a design from last year's catalog with a stamp set from this year's!

This card uses Pool Party as the scallop accent and flower color.  It's such a gorgeous shade of blue.

This one uses Calypso Coral.  It's a bright and warm pinkish-orange.  Beautiful.  Like I said, I LOVE the new In Colors.

You can see above how I used that same flower image to make the background for the card base. Perfectly coordinated!

And to give these simple cards a little something extra, I added Crystal Effects to the flower petals.  I love how I can just squeeze a tiny bit of this on any project to take it to the next level.

In Color Birthday

I seriously need some photography practice.  The colors are SO much prettier IRL!
Hello!

I was able to carve out a little time today to make a birthday card for a friend.  I wish I could give credit for the inspiration to this card.  I can't. But if it's you, thank you.  I loved your card!  On the original card, the artist used a paper doily behind the butterflies.  I didn't have a paper doily nor did I have a doily stamp so I used my ever favorite Medallion Stamp from SU! and embossed it in white on the card base.  Yes, it looks a little yellow-y in the photo.  The embossing powder I have isn't a white white, it's a winter white which is a little off cast.  I like it anyway.  Just adds to the dimension of the card.

I then used SU!s new In Colors for the butterflies.  Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder.  These are my most favorite In Colors ever.  I usually only like one or two In Colors, but with this group I love them all!

I need to make some more birthday cards soon and when I do, I'll share. :)

Gone but not forgotten

I'm sorry I haven't been crafty lately.  I have lots of ideas swirling in my head but I've been lucky enough to have been having lots and LOTS of quality family time this summer and I've LOVED every minute it!  I'll be back soon before all those ideas fade away with the Summer sun.  I hope you're having a wonderful Summer too!
